Meet The Doctor

Dr. Richard Jones

Dr. Richard Jones was born and raised in Danville, Virginia. He attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Biology. Dr. Jones then obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Immediately following dental school, Dr. Jones completed a one year Advanced Education for General Dentistry residency program at VCU.

Dr. Jones practices all aspects of general dentistry. He has over 15 years of private practice experience and loves working with patients of all ages, including children. Dr. Jones enjoys the challenges of working with children and making sure they have a positive experience while in the office. He also enjoys the challenges of treating adults with complex cases and making sure his patients know all of their treatment options so that they can obtain the smile they have always wanted.

Dr. Jones is actively involved in the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society and a Spear Dental Study Club in Northern Virginia. He is a constant learner and enjoys taking as much Continuing Education possible to stay up to date with the latest techniques in Dentistry (in fact, he consistently attends at least 60 hours of CE per year, which is 3 times the standard requirement.)

In his free time, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, whom he met while in dental school and who is a practicing orthodontist (owner/orthodontist of Merrifield Orthodontics) in Falls Church, Va. They have two small children (Richie and Caroline) that they spend the majority of their free time watching them play and grow. He also enjoys many outdoor activities including golf, skiing, fishing, and playing with his 7 lb rescue Shih Tzu, Josie. More recently, Dr. Jones has enjoyed volunteer coaching for his children's activities.
