John G. Sellers Jr., DDS

Dr. Sellers was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. He spent 3 ½ years in the Marine Corp between university and dental school. (But, once a Marine, always a Marine…) He graduated with a D.D.S. from the Medical College of Virginia in 1975 and continues his education each year through classes and seminars on various dental and orthodontic topics, including Invisalign certification and courses in soft tissue laser dentistry. He is a member of the ADA, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Association, the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the American Orthodontic Society, and the American Association for Functional Orthodontics.

Dr. Sellers loves to vacation at the beach or the ski slope with his wife Diane, his 4 children, and his 10 grandchildren. He is an active member of Christ The Redeemer Anglican Church. When he is not with his family or church, Dr. Sellers spends his free time reading, playing Su Doku, sailing, and sampling local restaurants.

Dental Assistants

Diane (Dr.'s wife) - Dental Assistant:

A native Virginian, Diane graduated from Longwood University in 1968 with a B.S. in Social Studies and Education, and an M.A.in education from Hampton University. She married John Sellers in 1973, had children and became a stay-at-home mom until June of 2009 when she began working as a chairside assistant. 

Judy - Dental Assistant:

Judy has worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Sellers since June of 2001. She enjoys working in dentistry because it has such a positive effect in people’s lives and especially likes caring for patients in Dr. Sellers’ office because the staff really strives to work as a cohesive team to provide the best treatment for our patients. She loves that we start every morning with prayer for our patients and our families after going over all the cases for the day. 

Susan - Dental Assistant:

Susan began working as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Sellers in August of 1994. She began her work as a Dental Assistant volunteering for the Red Cross in the 70s and has always enjoyed working in the medical field. Since working for Dr. Sellers, she has completed many classes in Esthetic Dentistry with Dr. Sellers. Susan has been an army wife for 25 yrs, 9 of which were spent in Europe. She has two grown sons and four grandchildren. Susan is a member of Church of the Word in Gainesville, VA. She likes that we get to know many of our patients' extended families here at Dr. Sellers' office and see many generations coming through the practice.

Dental Hygienists

Anne - Dental Hygienist:
Anne has been a Dental Hygienist for 27 years and has worked for Dr. Sellers since May 1990. She graduated with the dental hygiene class of 1984 from Northern Virginia Community College and has continued to stay up-to-date with the dental hygiene field through many continuing education classes. Anne is proud to be the mother of of two wonderful daughters and the grandmother of one perfect grandson. Jen is 34. She and her husband live in Pittsburgh and one son, Zachary. Alexandra is 17 and attends Stuart High School. Anne is a graduate of Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, VA, and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoys working in Dr. Sellers' office because everyone there is like family!

Liz - Dental Hygienist:

Liz has been working as a Dental Hygienist for 31 years, graduating from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1981. She lives in Fairfax with her husband John, where they are raising five children. Liz has worked for Dr. Sellers since October of 2005. She enjoys the relaxed atmosphere that makes his office an easy place to be.

Other Staff

Lisa - Business Manager - Orthodontic Technician:

Lisa has worked for Dr. Sellers since 1982. She has been working with his orthodontic cases for 25 ½ years and as his business manager for 18 years. She graduated with a BS in biology from George Mason University in 1986 and has completed many courses in orthodontics with the American Association of Functional Orthodontists, the American Orthodontic Society. In 2008 she was made an honored member of Cambridge Who’s Who. Lisa married Andy in 1989 and has two children. They have attended Church of the Epiphany – Anglican since 1987. Lisa enjoys working in a loving Christian atmosphere in which she can use her skills to enhance the lives of our patients. She loves to learn – especially about orthodontics, pedodontics, facial growth, and orofacial mycology.

Brandie (Dr.'s daughter in-law) - Appointment Coordinator:

Brandie came on board Fall of 2009 as the Billing Coordinator and a few months later became the Appointment Coordinator, which is a great fit! She loves her job and interacting with all of the kind and loyal patients Dr. Sellers has accumulated over the years. In 2011 she married her high school sweetheart, who is also Dr. Sellers son! She enjoys writing (more recently, blogging), photography, and any way she can use her creative mind!
